About Eric Kohn

Eric Kohn is a member of Urquhart Media LLC, an aggressive, one-stop strategic communications firm for clients who require success in the public affairs arena. He is a veteran of numerous political campaigns and grassroots political organizations with wide-ranging experience in web development, e-communications, strategic communications and campaign management.

Since 2001, Kohn has served multiple political campaigns and organizations in various capacities, including as campaign manager for Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica's 2006 landmark reform candidacy for Cook County Board President. In 2004, he was named to the steering committee for Young Professionals for Bush, an official arm of the Bush/Cheney '04 reelection bid.

A native of downstate Belleville, Illinois, Kohn is a 2004 graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, where he was a noted columnist for the University's award-winning newspaper, The Decaturian.

Some of Kohn's political and issues-based commentary was featured in the 2004 anthology What We Think: Young Voters Speak Out, a national publication from Book Publishers Network. He contributed commentary and analysis on the 2008 election cycle for the official political page of The Big 89, Chicago's Talk Station WLS 890-AM - www.ElectIL.com - and currently contributes to www.IllinoisReview.com.  His columns have been published in the St. Clair & Madison County Record.

Prior to joining Urquhart Media, Kohn served as communications director and spokesman for the Cook County Republican Party.
